CMAP Groups enable you to create groups of related contacts. Groups can be anything you like. Here are some typical examples:
- A group for your UK-based clients
- A group for your US-based clients
- A group for clients in a specific sector
- A group of clients to whom you want to send a Christmas card
- A group of suppliers
- A group of suppliers, partners and client contacts for a specific project
- A group of people you want to invite to your company golf day
You get the idea! Groups can be for anything.
Here's how to create a group and then add people to it:
- Click the Contacts tab
- To add a new group, click the Add link next to Groups in the right-hand panel
- Enter a name for your group
- Click the Save button
Your group will now be created, but it will be empty. The next thing you need to do is add people to it. To do that:
- Find a contact you'd like to add to your group
- On the Contact Details page, click Add to a Group next to Group Membership in the right-hand panel
- Choose the group you want to add the contact to
- Click the Save button
Once you've added people into your group, simply click the group name on the Contacts home page and you'll be able to see all of the members of the group, along with their contact details.
In the Actions panel on the right-hand side of the page, you can then perform some actions. Perhaps the most important one is Export, which enables you to export the contacts in the group to a CSV file so that you can use them in a mail merge for a mailshot, for example.
