Orientation (Tabs Walkthrough)
N.B. The tabs you see in your instance of CMap depend on the modules you have subscribed to as part of your CMap licencing agreement. If some are “missing”, don’t panic, the likely answer is you didn’t go for them. As time goes on, if you feel some of the additional tabs might be beneficial, contact us and we’ll arrange for it to be added to your subscription and switched on.
Dashboard
When you log in, the default screen is your dashboard. The dashboard is comprised of dashboard boxes, giving real-time information that is both relevant and personalised to each CMap user.
Contacts
The contacts tab is a centralised database. This is also the hub for your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) activities.
Marketing
The Marketing module enables you to run email campaigns to associates in your Contacts database straight from CMap and track their interest levels in your content.
Leads
The Leads module is where you capture early stage, unqualified opportunities. It’s a great way of capturing the very top of your sales funnel to make sure they’re not left unexplored.
Pipeline
N.B. Not available for the AEC Edition.
The pipeline tab is where you manage qualified opportunities. Pipeline has more features and functions than Leads, including tools like the Fee Estimator.
Projects
The projects tab is where the vast majority of the CMap functionality resides and gives you the tools you need to manage and track your projects. Here, you resource your project, track Budget vs. Actuals, schedule and generate invoices, etc.
Resourcing
The resourcing tab is where you’re able to centrally control resourcing, using tools like the Resource Schedule and Workload Schedule.
HR
The HR tab is where you’re able to track important information for your users, store relevant documentation, etc.
Time
The time tab is where users complete and submit their weekly timesheets and manage their time off requests.
Expenses
The expenses tab is where users manage personal expense claims e.g., reclaiming mileage, accommodation, subsistence, etc. It’s also where approvers conduct their approvals.
Finance
The finance tab is where you control key system settings, such as FX rates. It’s also where you centrally control things like rate cards. This is usually a heavily restricted area.
Reports
The reports tab is where you’re able to run Standard Reports (i.e. out-of-the-box reports) as well as build Custom Reports using the Report Builder tool (part of the CMap BI module)
Admin
The admin tab is where you control key system settings, such as security permissions. This is usually a heavily restricted area.
