This lesson only applies to the AEC version of CMAP.
This lesson explains how you Win Workstages. To Win a Workstage in CMAP you set its Probability to 100%. Once you’ve set a Workstage’s Probability to 100%, CMAP makes the projected invoices real in the Invoicing page of the project, ready to be Approved and billed to the client. The Workstage’s Budget bar in the Budget vs. Actual page of the project will turn blue to indicate it is a Workstage that the client will be billed for.
Step 1: Go into the Projects tab, find your project and click into it.
Step 2: Click the Fee Estimator page to reach the job costing area of your project.
Step 3: Click the Edit pencil icon of the relevant Workstage the client has signed-off for delivery.
Step 4: Adjust the Probability of the Workstage to “100%” using the dropdown and click Save.
The Workstage has now been Won.
NOTE: Once you set the probability of the Workstage to 100%, a red dot may appear on the left hand side of the screen, next to the Workstage that you have just approved. If you have this functionality switched on, an email will then be sent to the person that you have set as the “Approver” in order for them to be notified of the Workstage being complete.
NOTE: This functionality in CMAP is linked to the “Unapproved Stages Report” allowing Project Managers to keep track of any “approved” or “unapproved” stages on their projects.
NOTE: If you click into the Budget vs. Actual page you will see the Workstages with the Probabilities set to 100% now have the Budget bar set to blue – indicating they have been Won i.e., the client has agreed to be billed for the Workstage.
NOTE: If you click into the Invoicing page you will see the Invoice Schedule has now been populated to reflect the projected Invoicing Schedule from the Fee Estimator and make them real i.e. billable invoices. N.B. This is from the Won Workstage(s) only.
