This lesson explains how to use the Tagging tool in CMAP. Tags are used against contacts and companies for categorising purposes.
Step 1: Go into the Admin tab, find the Tagging tool and click it.
Any tags that are already set up in your CMAP will be listed here. Standard tags include 'Client' and 'Supplier' (and 'Reference Supplier' if you have References turned on).
Step 2: Enter the Name of the tag in the text box e.g. 'Print Supplier', select whether you want it to be attributed to a company or a contact, or both.
Step 3: Click Add.
NOTE: The tag will now be available to attribute to the relevant companies and contacts.
NOTE: Use the Edit pencil icon next to change the Name of the tag, and whether you want it to be applied to a company or a contact, or both. Once happy, click Save.
NOTE: Click the 'X' next to the appropriate tag to archive it. This will stop users from assigning the tag to companies or contacts, but will not remove it from any existing companies or contacts that are already associated to it.
TIP: So if you want to invite a 'Managing Director' to a 'Golf' day, you will be able to search against the tags 'Managing Director' and 'Golf' (assuming you have these as tag options in the system, of course) and identify any contacts in the Contacts database that match your criteria.
